When our most fundamental needs aren't met we fall apart. We feel a deep sense of unease, like something is missing, often below our ability to articulate. When we're unconscious of our needs that aren't being met we tend to look outside of ourselves for solutions and unconsciously try to meet our needs in all sorts of unskillful ways. But here's the kicker-- AS GROWNUPS, IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SEE TO IT THAT OUR OWN NEEDS ARE MET IN SKILLFUL WAYS. We'll examine what our deepest needs are and how to discern them.
